Recipe Ingredients for barley/brown rice dish

1/2 cup onion
2 tsp olive oil
2/3 cup pearl barley
14 oz chicken broth
1/4 cup brown rice
1 tbs thyme, fresh
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
1/3 cup walnuts

Recipe Directions for barley/brown rice dish

brown onion in olive oil over medium heat. Add pearl barley and brown for an additional 2 to 3 minutes. Add chicken broth, brown rice and spices bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and cook 45 minutes. When complete stir in walnuts and serve with fresh vegetables
