Easy, quick dessert. I make it with 1 cup of Stevia, or Splenda No Calorie Sweetener.

Recipe Ingredients for Barbara's Apple Tart

1 pie crust, refrigerated
3 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, ground
1 tbsp. flour
1 tbsp. Smart Balance

Recipe Directions for Barbara's Apple Tart

  1. Bring pie crust to room temperature. Dust counter top with a little flour, unroll pie crust, and roll out with rolling pin. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the apple slices with cinnamon, 1 cup of Splenda No Calorie Sweetener or Stevia, and flour. Stir to coat apple slices. Pour the apple slices and any remaining mixture on to the middle of the pie crust. Dot with pieces of the Smart Balance. Fold edges of the pie crust up, leaving the center open. Brush side of pie crust with a little water and sprinkle sugar on the sides.

  3. Place in a preheated 435 degree oven for 12 minutes, reducing heat to 420 degrees and bake an additional 15 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.

  4. Remove from oven to rack and cool.
