Kindof like a chunky pudding-style "Bananas Foster" only simpler more "banana-y" and alcohol free so you can serve it to the kids. It can be used as a topping for ice cream or oatmeal or eaten by itself

Recipe Ingredients for Bananas a la iana

1 medium banana
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp smart balance light
3/4 tbsp half and half (optional)

Recipe Directions for Bananas a la iana

  1. peel and slice the bananas into 1/4th inch rounds removing any very brown or overly mushy spots

  2. melt the butter in a non-stick frying pan large enough to accommodate all the banana pieces in one layer

  3. add the brown sugar as soon as the butter is melted and stir over medium-low heat for about 1 minute (depending on the intensity of your stove)

  4. add the half and half and stir until uniform

  5. lay the banana slices out in a single layer and cook for 30 seconds over medium heat

  6. stir all the contents together over medium high heat for an additional minute or until the bananas start to become slightly translucent.

  7. smooth the bananas out into a single layer again and remove from heat.

  8. let stand 15-30 seconds before serving make sure to get the last of the sauce out of the pan with a silicone spatula
