Healthier Homemade Banana Pudding

Recipe Ingredients for Banana Pudding

4 cups 1% milk
2/3 cup flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs
6 egg whites
6 bananas
60 vanilla wafers

Recipe Directions for Banana Pudding

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Beat 6 egg whites until soft peaks form, add 1/2 cup sugar. Continue to beat until stiff peaks form. Set aside.

  3. In a double broiler, add flour, 1 cup sugar, milk and 4 eggs. Stir until thickened.

  4. Layer 1/3 of vanilla wafers, 1/3 of bananas sliced, and 1/3 custard mix. Repeat for 3 layers, ending with custard on top. Cover with egg white mixture; sealing all edges.

  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes until top is golden brown.
