Adapted from a Betty Crocker cookbook recipe to reduce fat, sodium and cholesterol. Can be iced with Banana Butter Frosting.

Recipe Ingredients for Banana Nut Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 c flour
1 c whole wheat flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp cloves
1/2 c Smart Balance butter
3/4 c sugar
1/4 c In the Raw Zero Calorie Sweetener
1/2 c Eggbeaters
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 c. bananas (ripe and mashed)
1 c semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c Walnuts

Recipe Directions for Banana Nut Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. In a bowl gently combine the six dry ingredients and set aside.

  2. Beat butter for 30 seconds.

  3. Add sugars and beat till fluffy.

  4. Add eggbeaters and vanilla; beat well.

  5. Add dry ingredients alternately with bananas and beat well after each addition.

  6. Stir in chopped nuts.

  7. Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart onto a well greased cookie sheet.

  8. Bake at 375 for 10 to 12 minutes.

  9. Remove from cookie sheet immediately to cool on a wire rack.
