Recipe Ingredients for Banana Nut Brownies

2 ripe bananas
1 egg
1 t vanilla extract
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 t salt
1/2 t baking powder
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup white whole wheat flour
1/2 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
1/2 cup walnuts

Recipe Directions for Banana Nut Brownies

  1. Preheat the oven to 350. Combine the wet ingredients (bananas, egg, vanilla, melted butter and vegetable oil) until mixed. Leave a few banana chunks.

  2. Add the dry ingredients (sugar, salt, baking powder, cocoa powder, and flour). Be careful not to over-mix.

  3. Mix in chocolate chips and walnuts. The batter should be very thick and sticky.

  4. Grease a small 88 square pan, and spread the brownie batter out evenly, pushing it into the corners.

  5. Allow them to cool, then cut into 16 squares.
