A healthy twist to a classic bread. Can be served with butter or cream cheese.

Recipe Ingredients for Banana Nut Bread

3 small bananas, peeled
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 c unsalted butter, softened
1/4 c unsweetened applesauce
1/4 c natural honey or agave nectar
1/4 c splenda
2 egg whites
1 egg
1/2 cup fat free milk
1 1/4 c flour
1/4 c milled flax seed
1/2 c old fashioned oats
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 c walnuts

Recipe Directions for Banana Nut Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  2. Blend bananas until smooth. Add the lemon juice, butter, honey, splenda, eggs, and milk. Blend until smooth. Add the flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon and blend. Clean the sides of the bowl. Add the walnuts and blend briefly.

  3. Spray a 9x5 loaf pan with PAM. Spoon the batter into the pan and spread evenly. Bake for 1 hour or until cooked through. Cool on a wire rack.
