Makes 16 servings



Banana bread with sour cream, slivered almonds and chocolate chips! Makes 2 loaves. Each serving is 1/8 slice of loaf.

Recipe Ingredients for Banana Nut Bread

1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup applesauce
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
8 bananas
16 oz sour cream
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
3 tsp baking soda
4 1/2 cups flour
2 oz slivered almonds
1 cup chocolate chips

Recipe Directions for Banana Nut Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Grease two loaf pans and then dust with cinnamon & sugar ( 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon).

  2. In a large bowl cream the butter, sugar and applesauce. Mix in eggs, mashed bananas, sour cream, vanilla extract, cinnamon. Mix in salt, baking powder, flour. Stir in nuts. Divide into pans.

  3. Bake one hour or until done.

  4. Hint: Cover with foil the last 20 minutes to avoid burning the top.
