Low calorie, low fat banana brownies.

Recipe Ingredients for Banana Brownies

1 cup oats
1 cup boiling water
4 egg whites
3 medium (1.5 cups) mashed bananas
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsps vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup flour
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Banana Brownies

  1. Combine oats and boiling water in a bowl.

  2. Let stand for 5 minutes.

  3. Beat egg whites, bananas, sugars, oil and vanilla until blended.

  4. Combine dry ingredients and gradually add to creamed mixture.

  5. Stir in oatmeal mixture.

  6. Spread into a 13 inch x 9 inch pan coated with nonstick cooking oil.

  7. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the centre comes out clean. (Do not overbake.)

  8. Let cool on wire rack.

  9. Cut into bars.
