This banana bread is rich in omega 3 fatty acids. Add more omega 3's by adding walnuts.

Recipe Ingredients for Banana Bread (Whole Wheat)

1 cup sugar
1/3 cup canola oil
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups bananas
1/3 cup water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 cup ground flaxseed
1 2/3 cup whole wheat flour

Recipe Directions for Banana Bread (Whole Wheat)

  1. Preheat oven to 350 and grease bottom of a loaf pan.

  2. Mix together sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.

  3. In a separate bowl mash ripe bananas and mix in water.

  4. Combine with sugar, egg, oil mixture.

  5. Mix in the dry ingredients, but don't over mix.

  6. Bake at 350 degrees for about an hour to an hour and 10 minutes. Check for doneness by piercing with a fork or toothpick.
