Quick Bread from United Church cookbook with oil remoed and substitution of apple sauce also 1/2 cup brown sugar for 1/2 cup white

Recipe Ingredients for Banana Bread revised

1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
3 bananas
2 cups flour
1/2 cup apple sauce
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup orange juice
1/2 tsp baking powder

Recipe Directions for Banana Bread revised

  1. beat sugar and applesauce together

  2. add beaten eggs and mashed bananas

  3. beat well

  4. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt together

  5. add to banana mixture

  6. blend well

  7. mix in orange juice combining well

  8. Pour into a greased and floured 9x5 pan

  9. Bake at 350 degree for 1.5 hours

  10. Turn out on cake rack

  11. Wrap and store overnight before slicing

  12. Slice very thin
