Recipe Ingredients for Banana bread

1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup bananas
1/2 cup low fat sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup chopped dates

Recipe Directions for Banana bread

  1. oven to 350

  2. 9x5x3 inch pan buttered

  3. electric mixer with paddle attachment cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, and beat to incorporate.

  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Add butter mixture and mix until just combined. Add bananas, sour cream, and vanilla; mix to combine. Stir in nuts, and pour into prepared pan.

  5. Bake about 1 hour 10 min until cake tester in center is clean. Let rest in pan for 10 minutes, then turn our onto rack to cool.
