I use spelt for the flour, palm sugar for sugar, kefir for buttermilk.

Recipe Ingredients for Banana Bread

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup mashed banana
2 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Recipe Directions for Banana Bread

Mix the wet, then the dry, mix together briefly. Pour into loaf pan, bake at 350 about 1 hour.
