This old-fashioned loaf is not too sweet (really, if you're looking for the traditional, sweet banana bread, this does not come close!) May want to try toasting it for a contrast between the crunchy exterior and soft interior.

Recipe Ingredients for Banana Bread

2 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
6 tbsp salted butter
1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
3 large bananas

Recipe Directions for Banana Bread

  1. preheat oven to 350 Fahrenheit; grease 9 x 5 loaf pan

  2. in a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. in another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. gradually add in eggs (previously lightly beaten), mixing to combine. stir in mashed bananas and flour mixture by thirds. pour batter into greased loaf pan.

  3. bake until loaf starts to pull awayu from edges of pan - appx 50-65 mins.

  4. may slice and toast on hot griddle or in toaster oven.
