this is the gold medal flour version with added chocolate chips instead of the nuts (exchanged cup for cup)

Recipe Ingredients for Banana Bread - (not whole wheat version)

3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups mashed bananas (about 3 large)
3/4 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Recipe Directions for Banana Bread - (not whole wheat version)

  1. Heat oven to 325 degrees.

  2. Grease a loaf pan, either 9x5x2 or 8 1/2x4 1/2x 2 1/2 inches, with shortening, using a pastry brush (or spray).

  3. Mix sugar, bananas, oil, and eggs in a large bowl with a wooden spoon. Stir in remaining ingredients . Pour into pan.

  4. Bake until wooden pick inserted in center of bread comes out clean, 60 to 70 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes, then loosen slices from loaf pan and remove from pan. Let cool completely before slicing. Makes 1 loaf.
