Healthier low-fat version, made with no oil. Oat or wheat bran can be subsituted.

Recipe Ingredients for Banana Bread - Healthier version

1 cup White Whole Wheat Flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
3 tsp baking power
1/3 tst salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp allspice
1 egg
1 cup milk
1/4 cup nofat sour cream
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup ground flaxseed
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup spelt bran
1 cup walnuts

Recipe Directions for Banana Bread - Healthier version

  1. Mix dry ingredients

  2. Beat egg, add milk and banana, sour cream

  3. Add walnuts

  4. Mix until blended

  5. Grease one or two loaf pans (2 smaller loaves)

  6. Bake 350 about 45 min
