Banana Bread recipe from my cholesterol class.

Recipe Ingredients for Banana Bread (healthier recipe)

2 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 cup sugar
3 egg whites
4 bananas
1 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe Directions for Banana Bread (healthier recipe)

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray an 8x4x3-inch loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Set aside.

  2. In large mixing bowl, whisk together applesauce, sugar, egg whites, banana and vanilla. Add flour mixture all at once and stir gently to blend. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted into center comes out clean. Coll bread completely before slicing.

  3. Yield: 1 loaf (About 16 slices)

  4. Note: Loaf can be tightly wrapped and stored for up to one week or frozen up to 2 months.
