Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips

Recipe Ingredients for Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips

1 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
4 bananas
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour, unbleached
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Recipe Directions for Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips

  1. Heat oven to 350, oven rack on lowest position.

  2. Grease bottoms only of 2 8 in loaf pans

  3. Mix sugar and butter in large bowl.

  4. Stir in eggs until well blended.

  5. Mash bananas

  6. Add bananas, buttermilk, and vanilla.

  7. Beat until smooth.

  8. Stir in remaining ingredients until moistened.

  9. Pour into pans

  10. Bake 1 hour, until wooden pick comes out clean

  11. (If using 1 9 inch pan, bake 1 1/4 hours)

  12. Cool 5 minutes and remove from pans.

  13. Cool completely before serving
