Banana bread meets bran muffins with cranberries for an extra treat

Recipe Ingredients for Banana bran muffins

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
6 ripe bananas
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup 1% milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 large eggs
3 cups all purpose flour
1 cup wheat bran
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup sweetened dried cranberries

Recipe Directions for Banana bran muffins

Preheat oven to 350 degreesCream together butter & brown sugar.  Add bananas, applesauce, milk, eggs, and vanilla.Stir flour, bran, baking powder, soda, and salt together in a separate bowl. Add to creamed mixture along with cranberries.Pour into prepared muffin tins.  BAke at 350 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes.  Remove from pan immediately and cool on wire racks.
