Saw the title for this smoothie in a recipe book, and I thought I'd try to re-create it with a touch or two of my own. The banana almond combo is delicious and only intensified by the almond extract. Flax meal, my favourite ingredient in everything, adds fiber and Omega-3 fats. Makes a lovely breakfast or lunch!

Recipe Ingredients for Banana Almond Smoothie

1 1/2 sliced banana
1/2 cup natural almonds
1 cup 1% milk
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup flax meal
1 tsp almond extract

Recipe Directions for Banana Almond Smoothie

  1. Put the almonds in a food processor and process until finely chopped.

  2. Put all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

  3. Make variations of you own by adding different spices, vanilla extract or making it thicker with yogurt!
