Recipe Ingredients for Balsamic Glazed Pork Chops

4 pork chops
1/4 t ground pepper
2 T olive oil
1/4 c chopped onion
2/3 c balsamic vinegar
1 1/2 t sugar

Recipe Directions for Balsamic Glazed Pork Chops

  1. Sprinkle pork chops with pepper.

  2. Cook pork in oil with shallots, turning pork once and stirring shallots occasionally, until pork is browned and shallots are golden brown and tender, about 5 minutes.

  3. Transfer pork to a plate, leaving shallots in the skillet.

  4. Add vinegar, sugar and pepper to skillet and cook, stirring, until sugar is dissolved and liquid has thickened slightly, about 1 minute.

  5. Reduce heat and return pork and juices that have accumulated to skillet, turning 2 or 3 times to coat with sauce.

  6. Cook, turning once until pork is just cooked through, about 3 minutes.

  7. Transfer pork to serving platter and boil sauce until thickened and syrupy, about a minute or two.

  8. Pour sauce over pork.
