Recipe Ingredients for Balaji Dal Fry

1/2 cup Pigeon Peas (Red Gram), Mature Seeds, Cooked, Boiled, Without Salt
1/2 small onion, chopped
1/2 small tomato
1/2 chili pepper, chopped
1 tsp ginger root, raw
1 garlic clove, chopped
1/2 tsp Turmeric, Ground
1/2 tsp peanut oil
1/3 tsp mustard seeds
1/6 tsp salt
1 tsp lime juice
1 cup water

Recipe Directions for Balaji Dal Fry

  1. Add 1 tbsp oil in a pan

  2. Add the mustard seeds and turmeric ground

  3. when the mustard seeds start to crack, add onions, ginger, chili and garlic clove

  4. after 5 minutes, add the tomatoes

  5. saute for 7 minutes on medium heat

  6. add 1/2 cup Pigeon Peas (Red Gram), Mature Seeds, Cooked, Boiled, Without Salt

  7. add 1 cup water

  8. when the water begins to boil add 3/4 tsp salt

  9. Serve hot
