To make good baklava it should be dried/baked on weak fire, and for long time. Syrup should not be watery but thick enough so it does not leak.... You will feel juiciness only with one bite ... ...

Recipe Ingredients for Baklava

750 g pie crust
1 kg walnuts
5 cups sugar
2 oz lemon
1 oz vanilla extract
3/10 l oil
150 g butter

Recipe Directions for Baklava

  1. Melt oil and butter in the pot.

  2. The total number of leaves (bark of baklava) share in three parts to make baklava even. Place first third them in baking pan and coat them with melted fat.

  3. When you done with the first third of the pie crust leaves, shake over a pound of nuts (nuts should be choped fine) and without any additives (or you can add dry fruit). Even it out.

  4. Repeat the last step.

  5. Cut the baklava crust with sharp knife in shape of diamonds.

  6. Turn the oven to 130'C. Use the rest of the melted fat and pour strictly over the cuts. Place the baking pan in the oven drying/baking the baklava!

  7. Pour water over sugar , just a half inch over the sugar.Place the lemons cut in rings and a vanilla estract. Let it cook. Syrup is finished when the density reaches almost a caramel thickness. Test the density on the plate. Count that it will be thicker when it cools down.

  8. Pour syrup over the golden yellow hot baklava that is dried and leave it on the stove to cool and gradually absorbed. Do not cover!
