Really Yummy Phyllo dough with nuts and cinnamon, covered in sweet honey sauce.

Recipe Ingredients for Baklava

227 g Phyllo
1/4 lb butter
4 cups pecans
3 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon rose water
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1/2 cup honey
2 teaspoons vanilla

Recipe Directions for Baklava

  1. Melt butter. Brush on bottom of pan.

  2. Place two leaves Phyllo dough; brush with butter, sprinkle with chopped nuts mixed with cinnamon. Continue layering dough, butter and nuts until dough is gone (about 20 leaves or 10 layers).

  3. Cut into diamond shapes, completely to bottom. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 50 minutes.

  4. While dough is baking, dissolve sugar in water in medium saucepan. Stir in honey and simmer about 20 minutes. Stir in vanilla.

  5. Remove dough from oven and immediately pour all sauce over the dough.

  6. Let cool.

  7. Serve in cupcake papers. Do not cover, as this will make the baklava get soggy.
