Baklava with Fruit Recipe

Regular baklava is good, but why not add some fruit, to add fiber and antioxidants? Any dried fruit will work well.

Recipe Ingredients for Baklava with Fruit

4 oz phyllo dough
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup calimyrna figs (3 figs, chopped)
2 tbsp cinnamon
3 tbsp honey
1/2 tbsp ICBINB, melted

Recipe Directions for Baklava with Fruit

  1. Spray a 9x9" baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

  2. Mix walnuts, fruit, and cinnamon in a small bowl.

  3. Lay down first layer of phyllo dough.

  4. Spread half the walnut mixture over the dough. Drizzle with honey.

  5. Lay another layer of phyllo dough and coat with ICBINB.

  6. Add remaining walnut mixture. Drizzle with honey.

  7. Top with final layer of phyllo dough. Coat with ICBINB, then drizzle with honey and sprinkle with cinnamon.

  8. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes, or until top layer of phyllo is golden brown.

  9. Allow to cool, then cut into squares and serve.
