Old fashioned flaky biscuits. These are not a health food.

Recipe Ingredients for Baking Powder Biscuits

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
2/3 cup milk

Recipe Directions for Baking Powder Biscuits

  1. Preheat oven to 450F

  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbles. Beat egg and milk; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.

  3. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface; roll out to 1/2-in. thickness. Cut with a floured 2 1/2-in. biscuit cutter. Place 1-in. apart on an un-greased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
