Recipe Ingredients for Bakery Dinner Rolls - 1/2 whole wheat

2 tablespoons yeast
1 cup warm water
2 cups milk, scalded
1/2 cup shortening
1/3 cup sugar
3 eggs
1/2 cup cold water
5 cups white flour
5 cups whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons salt

Recipe Directions for Bakery Dinner Rolls - 1/2 whole wheat

  1. Dissolve yeast in water.

  2. Combine scalded milk, sugar, and shortening.

  3. Beat eggs and water together. Mix the eggs and water mixture with the sugar and milk mixture. Then add yeast mixture.

  4. Mix flour and salt. Add the other ingredients into the flour.

  5. Add more flour if too sticky.

  6. Place in a greased bowl and cover. Let raise for 1 hour.

  7. Divide into 4 balls. Roll each ball out into a circle.

  8. Cut into pizza pieces, and roll up into a croissant shape.

  9. Let raise on a greased pan for 1 hour.

  10. Bake at 375 for 14 minutes.
