Recipe Ingredients for Baker - Fire Chili

1 lb dry red beans
2 lbs beef sirloin, cubed
2 tbsp olive oil
6 Jalapeno peppers, medium
6 Serrano peppers
4 Habanero peppers
8 cloves garlic, chopped
1 large yellow onion, chopped
56 oz canned tomatoes, low sodium
3 tbsp Beef Bouillon, dry
4 tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 tbsp cumin
6 tbsp oregano
4 tbsp chili powder
1 cup boiling water
24 oz Beer

Recipe Directions for Baker - Fire Chili

  1. # Soak beans overnight and then cook for at last 1 hour at a vigorous boil.

  2. Salt and pepper sirloin to taste and then brown in the olive oil. Add onion and garlic to skillet with beef and saute for 2 minutes.

  3. Stem and seed the peppers. Place 2 each into a blender and cover with the boiling water and let stand.

  4. Add beans and remaining ingredients to 8 quart or larger pot.

  5. Process the peppers to liquefy and add to the pot.

  6. Bring chili to a boil. Reduce heat to low medium. Simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours or until beans are tender.

  7. Garnish with Cheddar cheese or sour cream is desired.

  8. This goes really with a sweet cornbread.
