Baked Stuffed Tomato Recipe

This is one of my favorite Italian Recipes. It's really easy to make, and takes about 30 minutes to bake.

Recipe Ingredients for Baked Stuffed Tomato

1 medium egg
1 large tomato
1 pinch salt
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon olive oil
1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Recipe Directions for Baked Stuffed Tomato

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F.

  2. Slice the top off the tomato and hollow it out with a spoon. Sprinkle a pinch of salt into the tomato and set it upside down for 5 to 10 min. on a couple of paper napkins to help drain the liquid.

  3. Use the olive oil to coat the base of your baking dish.

  4. Flip the tomato right side up and press it down gently into the baking dish so that it doesn't fall over. Crack you egg and let it fall into the empty tomato. Sprinkle add the spices and let bake for 30 - 45 min.
