Recipe Ingredients for Baked Pasta with Tomato, Cream and Five Cheeses

1 lb pasta shells
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup canned tomatoes, pureed
1/4 lb mozzarella
1 1/2 oz romano cheese
1/2 cup fontina
1/4 cup gorgonzola
2 tbsp ricotta, part-skim
6 basil leaves
1/4 tsp salt
4 tbsp butter, unsalted
1/4 cup scallion

Recipe Directions for Baked Pasta with Tomato, Cream and Five Cheeses

  1. 1. heat oven to 500; bring a large pot of salted water to a boil; add pasta; cook for 4 min; drain in colander

  2. 2. while pasta is cooking, place cream, tomatoes, cheese, salt, and basil in a large bowl; stir to combine; add pasta to cheese mixture, and toss to combine

  3. 3. divide among six to eight shallow ceramic gratin dishes (1.5 to 2 cups in capacity); dot with butter, and bake until bubbly and brown on top, 7 to 10 min; sprinkle with Romano and scallions; serve immediately
