Lighter version of the classic Monet Cristo from Kraft Canada.

Recipe Ingredients for Baked Monte Cristo Sandwich

8 slices whole wheat bread
4 light processed cheese slices
24 slices sliced smoked ham
2 egg whites
1/2 cup skim milk

Recipe Directions for Baked Monte Cristo Sandwich

  1. PREHEAT oven to 450F. Top 4 of the bread slices with Singles, ham and remaining bread slices.

  2. BEAT egg whites and milk in shallow dish or pie plate. Dip each sandwich into egg mixture, turning to coat both sides (let bread soak about 5 sec. on each side). Place sandwiches on baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray.

  3. BAKE 6 min.; turn. Bake an additional 5 min. or until sandwiches are golden brown. Cut sandwiches diagonally in half.
