Baked tomatoes with Kosher parmesan cheese, fresh oregano, salt and pepper.

Recipe Ingredients for Baked Italian Tomatoes

4 medium whole (2-3/5" dia) Tomatoes, Red, Ripe
1/4 tsp Salt, Table
1 tbsp Pepper, Black
1/4 cup Parmesan, Grated Cheese
1 tablespoon Oregano
1 tablespoon olive oil

Recipe Directions for Baked Italian Tomatoes

  1. Take a large cookie sheet and lay parchment paper on it.

  2. Wash 4 tomatoes. Halve tomatoes radially (around the "waist", not from top-to-bottom).

  3. Place tomatoes on parchment-lined cookie sheet.

  4. Sprinkle salt (this will help to draw the juices out of the tomatoes). Add pepper to "taste".

  5. Place approximately 3 tiny oregano leaves on each tomato.

  6. Top with parmesan cheese.

  7. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil.

  8. Bake at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 - 25 minutes.
