Baked French Potatoes Recipe

Very easy to prepare but take at least 60 to 80 minutes for preparation.

Recipe Ingredients for Baked French Potatoes

800 g of potatoes
400 g of onions
3 cloves of garlic
1 teaspoon of fresh flat-leaf parsley
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 mg of salt
1 mg of pepper
850 ml water
20 g of chicken stock
20 g of butter

Recipe Directions for Baked French Potatoes

  1. Preheat your oven to 200C/400F/gas 6

  2. Peel and finely slice potatoes

  3. Peel, halve and finely slice 400g of medium onions and 3 cloves of garlic

  4. Pick the leaves from a small handful of fresh flast-leaf parsley and finely chop

  5. Pour a couple of lungs of olive oil into a large, hot pan with the onions, garlic and parsley

  6. Slowly fry for 10 minutes, until the onions are soft and lightly golden

  7. Add a good pinch of salt and pepper

  8. Mix 1 chicken or vegetable stock cube in 850ml of boiling water

  9. In a large baking dish place a layer of potatoes, a sprinkling of salt and pepper, and a layer of onions

  10. Continue, repeating until you've used everything up, but try to finish with a layer of potatoes on top.

  11. Pour in the hot stock to just cover the top of the potatoes

  12. Break up 2 nknobs of butter and dot over the top

  13. Rub some foil with olive oil, place it, oil-side down, over the dish and seal tight

  14. Place in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, then remove the foil, push the potatoes down and return to the oven for 20 to 40minutes until golden and crisp.
