Kofta isn't usually made with ground beef or pork (usually lamb and sometimes chicken). I just used the ground meat I had on hand and it was still delicious. Serve in a pita with some tahini-yogurt sauce, pickles, and lettuce.

Recipe Ingredients for Baked Faux Kofta

1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground pork
8 cloves garlic, minced
6 tbsp onion, grated
6 tbsp parsley, minced
2 tbsp ground coriander
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground allspice
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Baked Faux Kofta

  1. Combine all ingredients and shape into balls then flatten them into 2 inch ovals and place on a baking sheet.

  2. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
