Slimmed down version of childhood comfort food

Recipe Ingredients for Baked Custard

1 large egg
3 large egg whites
1/2 cup splenda granular
2 cups 1% milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Baked Custard

  1. whisk together splenda and egg/egg whites

  2. scald milk (wisps of steam come off it)

  3. whisk milk rapidly into egg mixture

  4. stir in salt and vanilla

  5. pour into 1 1/2 quart casserole.

  6. bake in water bath at 325 for about 45 to 60 minutes until set but jiggly in center
