one of our favorites for chicken or pork chops. Makes them tender and yummy. The sauce/gravy is great over rice.

Recipe Ingredients for Baked Chicken in wine mushroom sauce

1 1/2 pounds chicken breast
1 egg
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup Italian breadcrumbs
3 tbsp. canola oil
10 ounces cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup white wine
1/2 cup skim milk

Recipe Directions for Baked Chicken in wine mushroom sauce

  1. Season the chicken breast to taste

  2. Dredge the chicken in the flour, then a beaten egg, then in the Italian breadcrumbs. Cook in oil in a skillet on medium high for about 3 minutes per side or until browned.

  3. Place chicken in a 3 inch deep baking dish (about 2 quart). Bake, covered, for an hour.

  4. Meanwhile, combine the milk, wine and soup. When the chicken has baked an hour, pour the soup mixture over the chicken. Replace cover and bake an additional 30 minutes.
