In Molasses - this is the recipe from the Thompons White Pea Beans package.

Recipe Ingredients for Baked Brown Beans

2 cups white beans
5 cups water
1 medium onion
1/2 tbsp salt
2 tsp cider vinegar
1 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp mustard
1/4 cup molasses
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 lbs bacon

Recipe Directions for Baked Brown Beans

  1. Soak Beans overnight (or boil for one hour)

  2. Pick out dark beans, reserve water.

  3. Combine all ingredients in casserole dish, add enough reserved water to cover.

  4. Bake at 250 degrees for 7 hours. Stirring occassionally and adding more reserved water to cover.

  5. When beans are tender remove a cup, and mash. Stir carefully back into dish.
