Recipe Ingredients for Baked Beef Ziti

12 oz ziti
1 tsp olive oil
1/3 pound raw lean ground beef
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp dried rosemary
1/2 tsp table salt
20 oz canned crushed tomatoes
2 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 cup mozzarella cheese

Recipe Directions for Baked Beef Ziti

  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. Cook pasta according to directions

  3. Heat oil in saucepain over medium heat; add garlic and saute 2 min. add beef and cooked until browned. Drain fat and return to pan

  4. Add herbs and salt and pepper, stir to coat beef. Add tomatoes bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 min.

  5. Spoon small amount of tomato mixture in 4 quart casserole dish. Top with half of cooked zitie, layer with half of tomator sauce and mozzarell cheese. Layer again. Top with remaining cheese. Bake about 30 minutes. Yield 1 cup per serving.
