Large Meatballs baked with sauted onions

Recipe Ingredients for Baked Beef Balls

2 tbsp. butter
4 medium onions
1 pound lean ground beef
2 links turkey italian sausage
2 eggs
2 slices whole wheat bread, lowfat
2 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
1/4 cup diced green bell pepper
1/4 cup diced red bell pepper
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt

Recipe Directions for Baked Beef Balls

  1. Slice onions into half rings

  2. Melt butter over medium heat; add onions

  3. Saute until golden brown, approximately 30 - 45 minutes

  4. Meanwhile, mix remaining ingredients and shape into 9 balls.

  5. Place half the sauted onions in the bottom of an 8X8 baking dish; top with beef balls. Top beef balls with remaining sauted onions.

  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
