Baked beans with molasses - slow cooker

Recipe Ingredients for Baked Beans

2 lbs. Navy beans
10 c. water
1/2 c. dried onion
1/3 c. molasses
1 c. brown sugar
2 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1 c. ketchup

Recipe Directions for Baked Beans

  1. Wash and sort beans. Place in slow cooker with 3 cups of water per cup of beans. Cook on low for 6 hours.

  2. Drain, reserving 2 cups of bean liquid.

  3. Add rest of ingredients, and bean liquid. Cook on high for 5 hours, or low for 10 hours. Add liquid as required

  4. to keep proper consistency and prevent drying out and burning.

  5. Makes 4 quarts.
