Dr. Oz cinnamon baked apples with tangerines and cranberries

Recipe Ingredients for baked apples with tangerines

2 large Baking Apples, (Mcintosh or Rome)
1 1/4 cups unsweetened apple juice
1/2 cup dried cranberries, (or cherries)
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
2 small oranges, peeled, separated into segments

Recipe Directions for baked apples with tangerines

  1. Heat Oven to 400.

  2. Cut apples in half lengthwise, cut out and discard cores, seeds and stems.

  3. Place 1/4 cup of the apple juice in an 8 in baking dish.

  4. Place apples cut side down in juice.

  5. Bake 15 to 18 minutes or until apples are tender.

  6. Meanwhile, simmer remaining 1 cup apple juice in a small saucepan over medium-high heat for 5 minutes.

  7. Add cranberries, cinnamon, and cloves, reduce heat and simmer uncovered 10 minutes, or until cranberries are plumped, stirring occasionally.

  8. Remove from heat, stir in tangerine sections.

  9. Arrange apple halves cut side up on serving dishes.

  10. Pour any remaining liguid from dish into cranberry mixture, spoon over apples.
