Recipe Ingredients for Bacon Onion Cheddar Biscuits

10 slices bacon
1 cup onion, diced finely
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder, heaping
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter, or vegetable shortening
10 tbsp milk
4 tbls vegetable oil
1 egg
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated

Recipe Directions for Bacon Onion Cheddar Biscuits

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Using a pastry cutter, cut in shortening until all combined. Combine milk, oil, and egg in a separate bowl. Whisk together.

  2. Combine flour mixture, milk mixture, bacon, onions, and cheddar cheese in a large bowl. Stir gently until all combined.

  3. Spoon batter into greased muffin tins.

  4. Bake for 20 to 22 minutes on 375 until golden.

  5. Remove from pan and serve warm.
