1940's recipe, needs plenty of herbs and pepper adding with the oatmeal

Recipe Ingredients for Bacon Oatmeal Pudding

2 cups oatmeal
3 oz suet
50 g bacon
2 small onion

Recipe Directions for Bacon Oatmeal Pudding

  1. Line bottom of greased basin with chopped bacon. Mix other ingredients; add water to make a fairly stiff dough. Pour mixture over the chopped bacon. Cover with cloth and boil for 3 hours. Serve with gravy and green vegetables.

  2. Any remaining pudding can be sliced and fried for breakfast.
