Recipe Ingredients for Bacon Butternut Bliss

5 c. butternut squash, cubed and peeled
1 lb. asparagus, chopped
12 oz. ziti pasta
4 c. chopped kale
1 lb. bacon
1 medium onion, sliced
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. red pepper flakes
5 garlic cloves, minced
2 T. flour
2 c. chicken stock
3/4 c. sour cream
1/4 c. parmesan
1/4 c. fontina

Recipe Directions for Bacon Butternut Bliss

  1. Roast squash and asparagus at 400 for 20 min.

  2. Boil pasta to package directions. Add kale last 3 min.

  3. Cook bacon in skillet. Remove. Cook onions in bacon fat. Add salt, red pepper, and garlic, saute 1 min. Add flour and cook 1 min. Add chicken stock and cook til thickens. Add parmesan to mixture.

  4. Combine squash, asparagus, pasta, kale, bacon, and onion mixture in 13x9 pan and top with fontina cheese. Bake at 400 for 20-25 min.
