This is my baby lima bean recipe. You can substitute lima beans for crowder peas, black eye peas, or field peas.

Recipe Ingredients for Baby Lima Beans

2 lb. dry lima beans
1 lb. smoked turkey
1/2 cup green onions
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
3/4 tsp. red pepper
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter
6 cups water

Recipe Directions for Baby Lima Beans

  1. add 6 cups of water in a pot

  2. add smoked turkey legs, necks, or assorted parts

  3. cook on med - high heat until meat is falling off the bone

  4. add sugar

  5. add beans

  6. add onion

  7. add seasoning

  8. add salt to taste

  9. cook 35 - 45 min on low to med heat
