Warm, gooey, delicious, yet still full of fiber and nutrients! Tastes a bit like mincemeat pie, but don't worry, there's no meat!

Recipe Ingredients for Autumn Apple Crumble

13/20 lb apples, cored and sliced
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup apple butter
1/4 cup marmalade
1 tsp cinnamon, divided
1 tsp nutmeg, divided
1/4 cup Promise light spread
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
56 grams oatmeal
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp lime juice

Recipe Directions for Autumn Apple Crumble

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Spray four small glass ovensafe dishes with nonstick cooking spray (preferrably butter flavored).

  3. Mix the apples with the walnuts, raisins, apple butter, marmalade, and half the spices.

  4. Divide apple mixture evenly between the four baking dishes.

  5. Next, combine the Promise with the flour, oatmeal, sugar, and remaining spices. It helps to use two butterknives to cut the flour into the Promise.

  6. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples.

  7. Arrange dishes in the center of the oven and bake for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until apples are tender and crumble is browned.

  8. Serve with vanilla frozen yogurt or a splash of almond milk - YUM!

  9. *Note: regular milk will curdle because of the lime juice. You can choose to leave out the lime juice, which will make the crumble sweeter and more gooey.
