Can't really improve on a homemade classic....well, except maybe health-wise!

Recipe Ingredients for Authentic Italian Meatballs and Sauce

1 lb. pasta (ziti or rigatoni)
1 lb. lean ground beef
2 eggs (beaten)
1/4 cup shredded cheese (Romano)
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
2 garlic cloves (crushed)
1 tsp. dried basil
1 salt and pepper
28 oz. whole tomatoes (canned)
28 oz. tomatoes (crushed, canned)

Recipe Directions for Authentic Italian Meatballs and Sauce

  1. Pour tomatoes into large pot.

  2. Mix everything else except pasta together and form into balls. Drop into tomato sauce. Simmer on low 2-3 hours.
