Recipe Ingredients for AUSTIN Makki roti

1 cups masa harina (can add coarse cornmeal for texture)
1 tbsp green chilies
1/2 tsp salt
1 spring onions, chopped
1 cups hot water
1/2 tbsp canola oil

Recipe Directions for AUSTIN Makki roti

  1. Mix dry ingredients together

  2. Add boiling water and mix. Start with a small amount and add until it's enough to make a thick dough that's not too soggy. Let sit until cool enough to handle.

  3. Knead dough well until smooth. Divide into balls.

  4. Flatten balls. Heat skillet to med-high.

  5. Cook rotis a few minutes on each side, until they become a nice brown color. Drizzle the oil (or butter, or ghee) around the sides of the rotis as they cook.
