audz 74 Homemade hearty pasta sauce. Yummy. just use a can of chickpeas drained it equals about 1.5 cups. You can also use as much herbs as you want, or sometimes I just add basil oregano thyme and rosemary. You can also substitute white wine for the vegetable broth or use both. You can pretty much add any kind of vegetables you want to the basic sauce I have used green peppers, carrots, and olives among other things....Generally I just go with whatever is in the fridge. If you dont have fresh garlic just use 1/2 tsp garlic powder. Also I use a reduced sodium broth so mine has less salt than advertised.

Recipe Ingredients for audz 74 Homemade hearty pasta sauce

15 oz chickpeas
15 oz diced tomato
12 oz italian tomato paste
10 oz frozen spinach
1 onion chopped
1 1/2 cups mushrooms
1/4 tsp salt
3 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp italian seasoning
1 tsp crushed red pepper
1/4 cup grated parmesan
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp sugar
1 zucchini medium
1 cup vegetable broth

Recipe Directions for audz 74 Homemade hearty pasta sauce

  1. Sautee onions and garlic in olive oil.

  2. Add other chopped vegetables except spinach, unless using fresh spinach. If fresh go ahead and add.

  3. Mix the rest of the ingredients in.

  4. Add water to desired thickness

  5. Simmer for at least 15 minutes.

  6. Enjoy!
