Recipe Ingredients for Asparagus Pea Medley

21 ounces asparagus
10 ounces peas, frozen
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced canned
2 ounces pimientos
5 tablespoon butter, divided
3 tablespoon flour
3/4 cup milk
5 ounces cheez whiz
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/3 cup bread crumbs, dry

Recipe Directions for Asparagus Pea Medley

  1. Cook asparagus according to package ( or fresh cut into pieces). Drain, reserving 3/4 cup cooking liquid. Place asparagus in greased 11x7x2 nch dish. Top with peas, mushrooms and pimientos, set aside

  2. In saucepan melt 3 tablespoons butter, stir in flour untilsmooth. Add milk and reserved cooking liquid. Bring to boil and stir for 2 minutes until thickened. Reduce heat add cheez spread, salt and pepper. Stir until blended. Pour over vegetables. Melt remaining butter and toss with bread crumbs. Sprinkle over cheese sauce.

  3. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight, or bake uncovered at 350 for 35-40 minutes. if refrigerator, remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
